Sexual Risk Avoidance Program

Inspiring Weld County teenagers to achieve healthy relationships.

WeldWAITS exists to:

Educate teens and parents about the benefits of delayed sexual debut,

Equip them with the skills needed to develop healthy relationships and

Empower them to realize their fullest potential.

WeldWAITS is a healthy relationship and sexual risk avoidance education program. Its holistic approach is based on the public health model of primary prevention. It is medically accurate, culturally sensitive, age appropriate, and parent friendly. The program encourages and empowers youth to choose healthy behaviors for themselves rather than normalizing teen sex and dealing with the negative consequences that result. WeldWAITS teaches the skills needed and benefits associated with self-regulation, success sequencing for poverty prevention, healthy relationships, goal setting, and resisting sexual coercion, dating violence and other youth risk behaviors such as underage drinking and drug use.
