RESIST is the name of the WeldWAITS mentoring program.  It stands for “Radically Empowering Students in Stopping Temptation”. 

In this program, high school students are recruited, trained and mentored by WeldWAITS staff to prepared them to be able to mentor 5th graders at Scott and Madison Elementary Schools in Greeley. 

The high school students are able to provide a positive example to the 5th graders as well as help prepared them for the social challenges of middle school with relevant examples and solutions. 

The program meets once, every other week, after school during the school year. 

The 5th grade students learn about healthy friendships, boundary setting, refusal skills, and various character traits to help them successfully transition into middle school.
